About Maia
Maia Knight is a student who is currently studying Journalism and Political Science at Carleton University. She has proven her ability to lead as the President of the Eco Council and as the Eco Representative at Earl Haig Secondary School.
Maia's interest in Politics stems from her concern about the environment and has always strived to better the community around her. She fears that the effects of climate change will cause irreversible damage and her future children will never know what it was like to live in a clean world.
Maia believes that Canada is in the position to take a leading role in combating climate change and integrating renewable energy as the sole source of energy. She hopes to be a part of the movement towards a more sustainable future.
Maia is passionate about youth involvement in politics and hopes that young people take a more active role in policy decisions.
