I am Eileen T. Higdon, former Councillor for Town Ward and candidate for Mayor of Pickering in the upcoming Municipal Election on October 22, 2018.

Pickering Municipal Council abounds with complacency, indifference, and apathy. There is encroachment on freedom of speech, and it has become a place where frivolous malicious court cases are commonplace. These are not my ethics, or values!

Pickering needs a fresh approach to economic stability, budget improvements, affordable and senior housing.

On Wednesday May 16th, I have declared my candidacy for Mayor of Pickering. I do this for our sons and daughters, and grandchildren. Pickering currently has no elected women sitting on its council. Help me change that. Pickering will be stronger when its council reflects its people, diversity and gender equality.
