A resident of Ajax with his wife and 4-year-old son, Sterling Lee is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University where he majored in English Literature and Political Science. After 12 years within the technology sector; working with the likes of Rogers Communications and Microsoft, Sterling decided to make his way back to working in his past field of study: Politics.
For four years, Sterling served as the Senior Advisor and Stakeholder Relations Manager for the Honourable Mark Holland; where he was able to connect with Ajax residents and understand the needs of the community.
In 2018, Sterling won his first political campaign, becoming Ajax and Durham's youngest Regional Councillor. Throughout his term, he has had the pleasure of sitting on the Ajax Library Board, Durham Region's Planning and Economic Development Committee, the Durham Region Local Housing Corporation, the Business Advisory Centre of Durham Board, and Durham Region's Anti Racism Taskforce where he sits as its inaugural Chair. As of June 2021, Sterling had made history as the Town of Ajax’s first racialized Deputy Mayor.
In 2022 and beyond, Sterling hopes to continue representing Ajax’s Ward 2 as Your Voice for Ajax.
